Friday Five - Yoga and Brews, How I Built This, Costco Does It Again, Crossbody Bag, and FitBit
Updated: Aug 30, 2018
Every Friday, I'll be sharing the five coolest things I've found during the current week. I love getting ideas from other gals gabout things to do, places to see, and products I need to have. Sometimes the items featured will be photography related, sometimes I'll just share a new hair product I can't live without.
This was our first full week back in school and I think we are all adjusting to getting back into the routine of things. I'm gearing up for a couple of shoots this week, gotta reset the batteries with a little fun!
1. GO: Yoga and Brews at the Wild Rover Brewery
I attended my first Yoga and Brews at the Wild Rover in Westchase last month and it was awesome. The class is taught in a fun and laid back way with a beer in hand. Sam and I both thought the class was more challenging than we anticipated but there were yogis of all levels in attendance. We had a sitter, stayed for dinner, and enjoyed a unique date night at the brewery! Class is only $10 plus the price of beer. You can register here for the class this Saturday!
2. LISTEN: How I Built This with Guy Raz
Let me start by saying I am podcast obsessed. I might even have podcast ADD as I tend to jump from podcast to podcast every few days/weeks/months. I rotate between sports, current events, business, bravo, and celebrity gossip. I love the ones that tell stories over multiple episodes and the ones that give me a quick listen. A long time favorite of mine is How I Built This. Each week features a different entrepreneur from products or places that we all know. They basically tell their story behind the business and how they found success. The episodes are usually 30-40 minutes and the stories are so entertaining. A few of my favorite episodes have been Kendra Scott, Kate Spade, All Webb (Drybar founder), Herb Kelleher (Southwest Airlines), and Jann Wenner (Rolling Stone). Give it a listen!
3. FOLLOW: Costco Does It Again
Full disclosure... if you have overspend at Costco already, you may want to stay away from this Instagram account. Costco Does It Again features all of the healthy and new products at Costco. It gives me ideas of what to look for on my next visit and highlights new products I might not notice on my quick weekly run. Its just an awesome follow to add to your insta feed! Click here to check it out.
4. BUY: Crossbody Bag
I have gotten more complements on this bag than pretty much any other that I own. Its my every day bag and I am obsessed. Its lightweight, big enough to hold the essentials (phone, wallet, keys, kids snacks), and best of all... ITS UNDER $20. I have it in tan and black but it comes in almost 30 different colors. Add this bag to your amazon cart, you won't regret it!
5. DO: Challenge Yourself
My husband and I are on week two of a fitness challenge. We are committed to getting 10,000 steps a day, 5 workouts a week. It sounds super simple but for me, it has been essential to reset and get on the path to developing and keeping healthy habits. My workouts have become more consistent these past few weeks and we are actually spending more time together as we try to take a family walk after dinner each night. Perfect excuse for family time at the end of the day!
